GDS Health — Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy
IFS · Somatic Therapy · Polyvagal-Informed Practice
GDS Health is a trauma-informed therapy service for people seeking deep, lasting healing — not quick fixes. Grounded in Internal Family Systems, somatic bodywork, and nervous system regulation, I offer a safe, steady space to work through trauma, anxiety, complex emotions, or substance use at a pace that feels right for you.
Why GDS Health?
People come to GDS because the work feels real, not clinical. You get a therapist who understands how trauma shapes your thoughts, your body, and your relationships — and who works with all three, not just the story you tell.
You get space to move at your pace. No pressure. No rushing. Just gentle, practical support that's grounded in serious clinical experience.
What Trauma-Informed Actually Means Here
Safety first, always. Sessions are calm, predictable, and welcoming. You're met with warmth and curiosity — never judgement. The first goal is helping your nervous system settle so real work can happen without overwhelm.
Nothing hidden. You'll always know what we're doing and why. Trust isn't assumed — it's built through clarity, consistency, and collaboration.
You stay in control. This is a partnership. We work with your strengths, your rhythms, and your goals. My job is to help you reconnect with your own capacity, not to take over.
In practice this means: understanding how trauma lives in the nervous system, avoiding anything that risks retraumatisation, honouring your autonomy, moving at a safe pace, and building a therapeutic relationship strong enough to hold whatever comes up.
How I Work
An integrative approach combining:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) — understanding and healing the different parts of you
Somatic therapy — working with trauma as it's held in the body
Polyvagal Theory — mapping and regulating your nervous system states
Relational psychotherapy — because healing happens in connection
This isn't a formula. It's a way of being with you that adapts to what you need, session by session.
Who This Is For
You might be living with the weight of past or recent trauma — or perhaps you can't quite name what's wrong, but you know something is. You might feel anxious more often than not, emotionally flooded, or strangely numb. Your relationships might follow patterns you don't understand. You might be exhausted — burnt out, stuck, or using substances to cope. Or you might simply feel ready to understand yourself at a deeper level.
This approach suits adults who want therapy that goes beyond managing symptoms — who are curious about the mind-body connection and willing to explore at their own pace.
You don't need to have it figured out. You just need to show up.
If I'm Not the Right Fit
No single therapist is right for everyone — and I believe good care means knowing when to connect you elsewhere. I work alongside a trusted network of specialist colleagues across the UK, including practitioners in EMDR, addiction recovery, couples therapy, TRE bodywork, and young person support. If your needs are better served by someone in that network, I'll make a warm, personal introduction. See my referral network →
